Tottenham sign Gareth Bale:on loan return from Real Madrid confirmed.
Gareth Bale has secured a sensational return to Tottenham, joining on loan seven years after leaving for Real Madrid.
In a deal pushed by Daniel Levy and approved by manager Jose Mourinho, Bale will spend the season back with Spurs with the Spanish giants subsidising a large portion of his wages.
It is the second new arrival from Madrid to N17 this week, as a £25million deal for left-back Sergio Reguilon has also been completed.
It is thought that Spurs have an option of extending the loan for a second season, which would see Bale run down the remainder of his contract at Santiago Bernabeu.
Manchester United were interested in both players but unwilling to agree to a buy-back clause for Reguilon and continue to prioritise Jadon Sancho over similar targets.
Bale is understood to have preferred a move back to the club in left in 2013, where he transformed from a left-back to frightening forward and the then world’s most expensive player.
