Salah: ‘I don’t mean anything bad about my teammates but maybe they lost some confidence’
- Mohamed Salah says that his teammates may have been affected by a few poor results following the Crystal Palace win.
- The forward has explained it could be a part of the reason the Reds have struggled.
- Salah added that as long as everyone keeps up the intensity, the goals will come eventually.
“I don’t know. I think maybe because the game after Crystal Palace we started drawing and losing some points and maybe some players lost some confidence in scoring goals or something,” Salah said, according to Liverpool’s official website.
“But I don’t mean anything bad about my teammates, I am just saying that maybe this could be part of the reason.
“But I think it is part of the game: you miss a chance and you just need to carry on and keep going forward for the next chance [and] to have that mindset that you’re going to score, you’re going to score, you’re going to score, it will come anyway.
“But I think in some games we go to the game with some pressure that we must win now and I think this affects us in the game.”
Mo Salah himself has struggled to put away chances in a couple of games but his 20 goals have kept Liverpool in and around the top 4 race.
Though it’s unlikely that he means it negatively, it is interesting to see Salah acknowledge the struggles and lack of confidence affecting his fellow forwards.
