Prince Harry to return to US without speaking to Charles one-on-one

Prince Charles to take estranged son Harry to see Philip tributesPrince Harry to return to US without speaking to Charles one-on-one.

Prince Harry will fly home to the US without having “one-on-one” chats with either his father or brother — because neither trust him enough to speak with him alone, sources told Page Six.

The only tete-a-tete among Harry, Prince William and their dad, Prince Charles, was a three-way “clear-the-air talk” at Harry’s UK home, Frogmore Cottage, following Prince Philip’s funeral on Saturday, sources said.

Charles and William would only agree to talk to Harry if there were witnesses to what was said, because the heir to the throne and his elder son feared that a twisted account might leak out from Harry’s camp, the sources said.

When Charles and William reached out to Harry last month following the bombshell interview he and wife Meghan Markle gave to Oprah Winfrey, the news was quickly reported by Gayle King — who revealed the talks were “not productive.”

Saturday’s three-way talk didn’t fully mend any cracks in the high-profile family, which arose after Harry, 36, and Meghan, 39, did a tell-all in which they accused the royal family of racism.

“They are being protective of one another — no one wants anything private being reported back to anyone. Nobody wants anything out there,” a UK royal source told us.

“And no one can pretend to know what was said on Saturday — it was just immediate family after the service.”

Another source added that “it’s still early days” and that “there’s a way to go” in mending the family rift.

Harry and William, 38, were seen having a brief, amiable chat on Saturday as they left Philip’s funeral service at St George’s Chapel and walked up to Windsor Castle. That talk, however, was just brief and in public.

Harry is believed to be flying home to California soon to reunite with his pregnant wife and their 23-month-old son, Archie.

A source familiar with the post-Oprah-interview rift told us: “It was wonderful to see William and Harry talking, but it’s early days. There’s a way to go.

“It’s not just Charles and William who want to keep their rapprochement private — but Harry too. No one needs Gayle King reporting on private family matters.”

Charles has now gone to Wales, according to the Daily Mail, to mourn the death of his father in private at his Welsh home, Llwynywermod in Llandovery.

Harry may still remain in the UK to join his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II on her 95th birthday on Wednesday.

While Her Majesty has canceled all formal celebrations, including the release of a new photo, Harry would be able to join her for a walk outside per the UK’s COVID-19 guidelines.

Harry’s flight home for the funeral of the Duke of Edinburgh, who died at age 99 on April 9, marked the first time he had been back to the UK in more than a year after he and Markle quit their roles within the royal family.

Although Markle was not given medical clearance to fly, she sent a handwritten note, which was placed on top of a wreath at Philip’s funeral, in addition to watching the service on TV at home in California.
