PHOTOS: How Kanu Nwankwo Celebrated His 44th Birthday With Kids In The Streets Of Owerri
Birthdays are one of the most memorable days in the life of every individual. We mark that day, celebrating and thanking our maker for our arrival into the world.
As for Nigerian football legend and former African Best Player of the Year Nwankwo Kanu, his birthday celebration of 2020 took a more generous and classy style.
On the 1st of August 2020, the former Ajax, Inter Milan, Arsenal, and Olympic Gold winner turned 44.
Kanu decided to take his birthday celebration to the streets of Owerri where he grew up and celebrate with little kids for the gift of another year added.
In collaboration with an NGO named “Mercy Urakwe Conglomerate, of whom KANU is a proud ambassador, kids on the street of Owerri were able to have a lifetime experience and celebration with Papilo himself.
Papilo mingled and sat among the kids, taking pictures and having a good time with them. He appeared so simple and humble.
They were also blessed with gift items such as books, pens, pencils, maths set, and a whole lot.
This will not be the first of such a gesture from Papilo. Kanu has been reaching out to children ever since his playing days. He has a heart foundation “Kanu Heart Foundation” where children and people with heart defects like himself are tended to.
Kanu has always been a lover of kids, and has three beautiful children himself.
He also runs a football academy where he tutors kids who have dreams of being big football stars just like him.
Many more years to Papilo and more grease to his elbow!
