The disk jockey believes the platform has been of much help to society amid the technological revolution and deserves the right to monetize their app. The new terms and conditions change comes with sharing users’ personal information to sister apps Instagram and Facebook for commercial purposes. This news has drawn many controversies worldwide, with many even suggesting a switch to Signal, which is deemed more private and secure.
Taking to his Twitter account Shimza wrote: “Check how much #WhatsApp has saved us over the years on airtime and how they’ve made sharing media so easy. I personally can’t be crucifying them for trying to monetise their app they’ve invested in. I might be wrong mara nna I don’t care if they know what size underwear I wear.”
His tweet riled up several debates on Twitter with some even looking at the funny side of the whole situation.
