Ghana Election 2020: Rawlings Death Will Not Affect NDC’s Victory In The Coming Elections

Ghana Election 2020: Alhaji Mohammed Sani, former Ashanti Regional Chairman of opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has said, the death of the founder of the Umbrella Party will not affect in anyway, the impending victory of the NDC in the coming December 7 elections polls.

His argument has been that, Mr. Rawlings was no longer a pivotal member of the NDC as he used to be, long before his unfortunate demise.

Speaking in an interview with Kumasi-based Akoma Fm, Mr. Mohammed Sani said Rawlings personally affirmed that, the chances of NDC winning the upcoming polls are still high with or without him.

He said “In his latter days, he parted ways with the NDC so he wasn’t playing any active role. The problem some of us had with Rawlings was the fact that we didn’t understand why he became close to Akufo-Addo. When you ask him about Akufo-Addo he says he (Akufo-Addo) was incorruptible. That was our major problem with Rawlings.”

Despite the political sentiments in Mr. Sani’s words, he still expressed his solemn regrets over the sudden death of the former President and founder of the NDC.
