Chelsea Set N’Golo Kante Transfer Price As Frank Lampard Eyes Two More Signings
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard could sell N’Golo Kante this transfer window.
Chelsea will sell N’Golo Kante if somebody meets their £60million asking price for the midfielder, according to reports. The France international endured a difficult season last time out, making 22 appearances as the club finished fourth in the Premier League table. Inter Milan have emerged as potential suitors for the 29-year-old, who has won two league titles throughout his time in English football.
Chelsea signed Kante from Leicester in the summer transfer window of 2016, shortly after he propelled Leicester to the Premier League title.
And he made an instant impact at Stamford Bridge in his first season, starring as the club won the title under the stewardship of Antonio Conte.
Last season, however, Kante fell down Lampard’s pecking order – with injury also preventing him from rediscovering his best form.
The Blues have enjoyed a stunning transfer window so far, landing Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Malang Sarr and Thiago Silva so far.
They still want two more signings, though, with a new goalkeeper and centre-back being eyed.

And Football Insider claim it will take an offer of around £60m for Chelsea to let Kante go this summer, amid interest from Serie A titans Inter Milan.
Inter boss Conte has raided the Premier League five times already since his appointment at the San Siro 12 months ago.
He’s snapped up Ashley Young, Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez from Manchester United.
And Christian Eriksen and Victor Moses (loan) have also arrived at the San Siro, both becoming vital players under the Italian in the process.
What ultimately happens with Kante’s future is something only time will tell, with Real Madrid previously having an interest in the 2018 World Cup winner.
Chelsea want to sign two more players amid Nick Pope transfer interest.
Chelsea offered Jan Oblak transfer hope as they learn of frustrations, But Chelsea want as much money for the midfielder as possible, especially with West Ham likely to demand big money to part ways with Declan Rice.
A new goalkeeper is also on their radar and, at the current time, it’s Burnley shot-stopper Nick Pope who is likeliest to move to Stamford Bridge.
Meanwhile, speaking in July, former Chelsea captain Dennis Wise urged Lampard to keep Kante in his squad for the upcoming season.
On the club’s midfield, he said: “I would say the main person is Kante, for sure, and then you can have a mixture of [Mateo] Kovacic, [Ross] Barkley or [Mason] Mount.
“I think it would be out of those four to make up the three which sit in there [in a 4-3-3 formation].
“Mason Mount has done extremely well, and Barkley has gone through a spell of really doing well. It’s difficult to give you the three, but one of them for sure is Kante. I think he is so important to the team to sit in there.
“You’ve also got [Ruben] Loftus-Cheek and young [Billy] Gilmour, so they’re quality players.
“Loftus-Cheek has obviously been out for a while and it would be unfair to all of a sudden try and push him into that category (alongside the main four players). And the young boy Billy Gilmour, just because he’s so young and developing, I think you’ve got to give him time.
“I think definitely Kante and then two out of the three that I mentioned – Kovacic, Barkley and Mount. It’s a great problem to have.
“Mount has done extremely well in spells, and so has Barkley and so has Kovacic – it’s very difficult to break them up.”
